School principal in sex charge court appearance
A primary school headmaster has appeared in court today on four charges of alleged indecent assault.
Jude Lynch, 42, headmaster of Good Shepherd Primary School in Londonderry, was released on bail after appearing before Larne Magistrates court on Friday.
The alleged assaults took place between January and April this year, however it is understood they are not linked to any past or present pupil at his school.
Mr Lynch was allowed bail on condition he complied with a 10pm curfew, reported to police once a week, and agreed not to contact any of the injured parties.
It is unclear at present what will happen to Mr Lynch as per his role as headmaster of Good Shepherd, however a statement from the governors of the school said they were in consultations with the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools about the matter.
