Four Charged Over West Belfast Bonfire

Two women and two boys have been charged in connection with trouble at an 'anti-internment' bonfire in west Belfast last week.

Eight officers were injured in the Divis Street area on Thursday night, following riotous disorder.

The women, 26 and 27, the boys, aged 14 and 16 will appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Thursday to face charges of riotous behaviour.

A 19-year-old man has appeared before Belfast Magistrates' Court charged with riotous assembly, while a 47-year-old man has been released on bail.

Woman Assaulted In S Belfast

A 21-year-old woman has been assaulted in south Belfast as she waited for a taxi.

The incident occurred in Damascus Street in the early hours of Sunday morning at 03:30. A man approached the woman and said he would take her to a nearby taxi rank.

He then forced the woman into an alleyway in the Fitzwilliam Square area and assaulted her.

The woman screamed, alerting the attention of a resident who shouted. The man then ran off.

The attacker is described as being about 5ft 8ins tall and slim, with a "local accent".

Man Dies In Coalisland Crash

A man has died in hospital as a result of injuries caused during a crash in Coalisland, County Tyrone.

The 26-year-old motorcyclist collided with an Audi car on the Annagher Road at about 15:00 on Saturday afternoon.

The man was brought to hospital but died on Sunday.

Arrest Follows Train Disorder

A man has been arrested for disorderly behaviour after an incident on a train travelling from L'Derry to Coleraine.

The man was detained when the train stopped at Castlerock on Saturday evening.

Man arrested in connection with Lisa murder is released
The man arrested in connection with the murder of Bangor woman Lisa Dorrian has been released, police have said. The 18-year-old man was detained in the Greater Belfast area on Tuesday but has since been released without charge. The man is the fourth person to be questioned in connection with inquiries into the 25-year-old’s killing.

Man Charged After Woman Killed In North Belfast Crash
A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a woman was hit by a stolen car in north Belfast. The stolen vehicle was being chased by police in the Ballysillan area before it crashed on Thursday, 19 April. The suspect is to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court today, 20 April.

Man Charged Following Discovery Of Woman's Body In West Belfast
A man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman who is it believed lay undiscovered in a west Belfast flat for more than two years. The body of 68-year-old Marie Conlon was discovered at the flat on Larkspur Rise on Friday 06 October. Detectives investigating the death detained the 23-year-old man on Wednesday 11 October.

Man Charged With Kidnapping Woman In East Belfast
A man has been charged with kidnapping a woman in east Belfast on Saturday 4th April. He is also accused of false imprisonment, common assault, assault on police and dangerous driving. The 25-year-old man is due to appear at Newtownards Magistrates Court today, Thursday. He was arrested on Wednesday.

Woman Charged After Man Found Stabbed In West Belfast
A man is being treated in hospital after he was found with stab wounds in west Belfast. Police said that a 57-year-old man was found at about 02:50 on Sunday on Conway Street suffering stab wounds. A 45-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the incident a short time later. She is due to appear in court today charged with attempted murder.
