PSNI Appeal Over Sectarian Robbery
The PSNI is appealing for witnesses following a sectarian attack in County Antrim.
Two men aged 18 and 19 were walking on Elmfield Road in Newtownabbey when a red car approached them.
Two men inside the car shouted sectarian abuse at the men before getting out of the vehicle and assaulting them.
The attackers then took mobile phones, football tickets and bank cards from the teenagers.
Methedrone And Shotgun Found In Antrim House
PSNI detectives have found a sawn-off shotgun and 3.5kg of methedrone worth £70,000 at a house in the Rathenraw area of Antrim town.
Two men aged 29 have been arrested.
The searches were part of an investigation with Border Force officers into the importation of Methedrone into Northern Ireland.
Police Dog Injured In Riots
A police dog has been among the casualties caused during serious rioting in Belfast city centre on Friday evening.
The dog, named 'Dark', was hit with an iron grating during the disorder.
He required treatment for his injuries, including seven stitches.
Dark was injured along with 56 police officers when loyalist protests against an 'anti-internment' march in the capital turned violent.
Dept. Warns Over Rates Email Scam
The department responsible for collecting rates in Northern Ireland has released a warning to the public following a series of bogus emails.
Land & Property Services (LPS) say some ratepayers have received a letter by email seeking to obtain bank details.
The letter had a UK mainland address and a 0800 telephone number (which is a dead line) from the address epayments@landregistry.gsi.uk.
The letter then asked the recipient to pay a specified rate amount by direct debit the next day.
A spokesperson said: "At times, LPS may contact ratepayers to discuss outstanding rates or to seek further information about a rate account.
"When LPS staff contact you, by phone, mail, email or in person, they will always ask you to confirm security information in relation to your rate account."

Detectives have renewed an appeal for information following a deliberate arson attack at a vacant property in the Weaver's Grange area of Newtownards. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 17 November, 2023. Police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 12:40am.
