Derry DPP to hold first public meeting
The first public meeting of the Derry District Policing Partnership (DPP) is due to be held in June.
At the meeting members of the public will receive a report made by the Policing District Commander on policing of the district followed by questions and answers by members of the DPP and the general public.
Explaining the importance of the meeting, Cllr John Kerr, Chairman of the Derry District Policing Partnership said: “The public meeting is an opportunity to receive an update on the policing report for the district and create a forum for raising issues and questions on policing in the area.
"It is also an opportunity to actively shape the policing needs of the district and to contribute to monitoring the effectiveness of policing and prioritise policing issues on behalf of the local communities”.
The report made by the District Police Commander will include a summary of recorded crime and detection rates within the District. Following this report the DPP members will question the police District Commander on specific aspects of police performance as detailed in the report as well as against the local Policing Plan.
All questions for consideration at the Public Meeting on the 23rd June must be submitted before 12pm on Monday 9th June and facilities for recording questions are available in the DPP office for those with disabilities, or who have difficulty submitting a written question.
