£270k Road Scheme For Omagh

Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced a £270,000 resurfacing scheme for the A5 Curr Road in Omagh.

Work is due to begin on today (16 September) at two sites on the Curr Road between its junctions with Seskinore Road and Moylagh Road.

The first site involves resurfacing approximately 0.5km at the junction of the Drumconnolly Road, while site two involves resurfacing approximately 1.2km between Crannoge Road and Church Road.

Minister Kennedy said: "This resurfacing scheme will provide an improved road surface and reduced maintenance costs on this very busy arterial route."

Work is expected to begin today and will continue until 27 September.

Traffic control will be in place from 16 September but work will be restricted to between peak hours. A full road closure will also be necessary from 23 to 27 September to allow final surfacing and all traffic will be diverted.

Ballygawley bound traffic will be diverted at the B83 Junction via Seskinore, while Omagh Bound traffic will be diverted at Crawfords Bridge via Beragh to Omagh. Local traffic will be accommodated. The scheme is expected to be completed on 27 September.
