Glenarm Shooting Farmhouse Burgled

A farmhouse in Glenarm, where two men were found shot dead last Friday, has been burgled.

The burglary happened after police left the scene on Sunday.

It is thought to have occurred sometime between 3pm on Sunday and 7.30am on Monday.

On Sunday, officers at the house on Feystown Road in Glenarm, Co Antrim, had completed their examination of the scene and left after securing the premises.

Earlier, they had recovered a firearm and other items from the scene.

Arthur Gibson, 61, and Michael Murphy, 37, were found dead at Mr Gibson's farmhouse on Friday evening. Post-mortem examinations confirmed both men died from gunshot wounds.

It is understood Mr Murphy, who had worked for Gibson for a number of years, shot his employer before turning the gun on himself.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the burglary to contact them.

Larne detectives can be contacted on 0845 600 8000, or alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
