National Pen Creates 200 Jobs In Dundalk
National Pen, a company specialising in the marketing and manufacture of promotional products, announced today that it is to create 200 permanent jobs at its International HQ in Dundalk over the next five years.
The announcement is made with the support of the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.
The International headquarters of National Pen in Dundalk currently services 19 markets outside North America. This expansion will bring National Pen's permanent workforce to 459 by the end of 2017. These new jobs will be created across the company in its sales, customer services, manufacturing, technical and administrative functions.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD said: "The creation of 200 new jobs at National Pen is fantastic news for Dundalk and the surrounding area and it demonstrates the company's commitment to Ireland. National Pen are a key export orientated company and announcements like this are a significant signal of Ireland's strengths as a location for investment - our people, our pro-business policies and our proximity to European markets. The Government, through our Action Plan for Jobs, will continue to prioritise measures which will build on the 3,000 new jobs being created by the private sector every month."

Offshore Company Axes Jobs
Around 150 jobs in Aberdeen and Dundee have been axed after an offshore services company ceased trading. Oceanteam Power and Umbilical has been forced to close when the firm's holding company withdrew its financial support. Staff are based in Aberdeen, at workshops in Dundee and offshore.

Tata Steel To Axe 250 Jobs
Unite the union has called for government action to help Britain's steel industry as Tata Steel announced it would be mothballing its Llanwern steel mill with the loss of 250 jobs. The job losses follow last month's announcement by Tata Steel to cut over 680 jobs in Rotherham and Stocksbridge.
