Resurfacing Schemes For Antrim & Randalstown
Roads Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of two resurfacing schemes in Randalstown and Antrim.
The projects are worth £230,000.
In Randalstown, work will begin on Tuesday 1 October and continue until Tuesday 15 October between Church Road and Clonkeen Road.
Ballydunmaul Road will be closed to daytime through traffic from Wednesday 9 October 2013 to Friday 11 October 2013 to facilitate the works. A diversion route will be signposted via Clonkeen Road and Church Road.
A second scheme in Antrim will also begin on Tuesday 1 October and continue until Friday 11 October between Nutts Corner Roundabout and Boltnaconnell Road.
Long Rig Road will be closed to daytime through traffic from Wednesday 2 October 2013 to Friday 4 October 2013 and Monday 7 October 2013 to facilitate the works. A diversion route will be signposted via Seven Mile Straight and Belfast Road.
Minister Kennedy said: "These improvements will result in the overall strengthening of the roads and people will quickly realise the benefits of the new carriageway surface."

NI Unemployment Rate Increases
The Northern Ireland unemployment rate continues to rise, according to figures release today by the Northern Ireland Statistics & Research Agency (NISRA). Unemployment stood at 7.5% for the period August - October 2013, indicating an increase of 0.6% on the previous quarter and a fall of 0.3% on a year ago.

Local roads get record £80m spend
A record £80 million will be spent on structural roads maintenance this year across Northern Ireland. The figure was revealed by Deputy Divisional Roads Manager, Tom McCourt as he presented DRD Roads Service’s autumn report to Newtownabbey Borough Council. Mr McCourt said: "This is a huge increase in investment over previous years.

£445k Resurfacing Works For Bangor
Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £445,000 resurfacing scheme on the A2 Belfast Road. The works will be carried out (Belfast bound) between the Ballysallagh Road and Ballyrobert Road junctions. The resurfacing works are due to begin on 2 September 2013 and last for seven weeks.
