Man who evaded police for 10 years is arrested
A man has been arrested after being on the run for more than ten years.
Thomas Callan, 36, was arrested in a joint operation between the PSNI and Gardai. He was believed to have been living in Londonderry but working in Donegal.
Callan, who is originally from Liverpool, was sentenced to six years for possession of Class A drugs in the early 90s. However, one year into his sentence he escaped when on day release, and has been on the run since then.
Police are expected to return Callan to England where he is expected to be sent to a closed prison.
