Council Launches 'An Introduction To Retail'
Anyone planning a career in retail should sign up to Belfast City Council's new programme.
'An Introduction to Retail' is open to residents of the city who want to open their own independent retail business.
The programme will provide mentoring and tailored workshops to develop skills in areas of visual merchandising, marketing and financial management.
Help will be given on developing a business plan and best-practice visits to existing independent retailers will take place to learn first-hand how you can successfully set up and run your business.
There will also be an opportunity to access up to £500 in bursary support to help test and establish your business idea as well as test trading at a range of locations across the city.
To apply for 'An Introduction to Retail' which is free of charge, contact the council's Economic Development Unit by email at lynnr@belfastcity.gov.uk or call 028 9027 0229.
The closing date for applications is 17 October. The programme will run from the end of October until March.
