Derry man jailed for crime committed 20 years ago
A Londonderry man has been jailed for nearly two years for sexually abusing three young sisters over 20 years ago.
James Curran, 63, had his original sentence of probation overturned at the Appeal Court in Belfast. He was also sentenced to three years probation for indecent assaults.
His initial sentence was handed out last December when he admitted to the charges read out against him.
Elsewhere, police and social services are investigating reports of ill treatment at a nursery school in Co Down.
A number of children are thought to be involved in the investigation at the Newtownards nursery school.

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.

Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.
