Man 'Critical' After Blast

A man is reported to be in a 'critical' condition following a suspected gas blast at a property in L'Derry last night.

Fire crews attended the scene of the incident at a house in the Bonds Street area of the Waterside at 10.30.

The man was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital and then transferred to the Royal Victoria in Belfast.

Tyrone Attack Suspect Released

A man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an attack in Carrickmore, County Tyrone, has been released on bail.

The 34-year-old was held by detectives in the village on Monday afternoon.

The 24-year-old victim remains in hospital after the attack, which occurred in the Main Street area over the weekend.

Woman Convicted Of Benefit Fraud

A woman was convicted at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court today for claiming £11,072 in benefits she was not entitled to.

Claire McFarland, 34, of Belfast Road, Bangor, claimed Income Support totalling while failing to declare employment.

She was given a three month prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to pay court costs of £37.

Ms McFarland is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

Man Dies In Antrim Collision

A man has died in a vehicle crash on the Braepark Road near Ballyclare at, County Antrim, at 09:30 on Monday morning.

The road remains closed to traffic and diversions are in place while police carry out their investigations.

Serious Road Crash In L'Derry
A serious road crash has occurred on the Chapel Road in L'Derry. A car and a motorbike where involved in the incident, according to the police. One man, believed to be a teenager, has been taken to hospital where his injuries are believed to be serious. The road has been closed at its junctions with Newlyn Terrace and Spencer Road.

Off licence robbed in south Belfast
A man armed with a handgun has robbed an off-licence in the University Road area of south Belfast. Shortly after 7pm, a man entered the premises and produced a handgun and demanded money from the till. The man made off with an undisclosed sum of money.
