Man Spotted With 'Shotgun'

Police have reported sightings of a man seen dressed in camouflage gear carrying a suspected shotgun in east Belfast.

The man was seen near the Upper Braniel Road and Manse Road, walking in the direction of the Ballygowan Road, on Thursday morning.

The PSNI has asked anyone with information, or who sees the man, to contact them immediately.

North Belfast Car Vandalism A 'Hate Crime'

A series of attacks on cars at the weekend in north Belfast is being treated by police as a hate crime.

Windows of four parked vehicles were smashed in the Mount Vernon Park area shortly before 20:00 on Sunday.

Police are appealing for information.

Boy Injured In Ards 'Hit And Run'

A boy has been injured in a 'hit and run' incident in Ards, County Down.

The 11-year-old was hit by a silver Astra on the Donaghadee Road at about 15:40 on Wednesday.

The driver did not stop and drove off, following the collision.

Man Convicted Of benefit fraud

A man has been convicted at Belfast Magistrates' court for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

25-year-old David Grahamof Shore Crescent, Belfast, claimed Carers Allowance totalling £303 while failing to declare employment. He was fined £200.

Mr Graham is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

Off licence robbed in south Belfast
A man armed with a handgun has robbed an off-licence in the University Road area of south Belfast. Shortly after 7pm, a man entered the premises and produced a handgun and demanded money from the till. The man made off with an undisclosed sum of money.

Serious Road Crash In L'Derry
A serious road crash has occurred on the Chapel Road in L'Derry. A car and a motorbike where involved in the incident, according to the police. One man, believed to be a teenager, has been taken to hospital where his injuries are believed to be serious. The road has been closed at its junctions with Newlyn Terrace and Spencer Road.
