Belfast Robberies 'May Be Linked'
Police investigating a series of robberies that took place in north Belfast over the weekend could be linked.
On Friday evening, at around 6.35pm, a man wearing a motorcycle helmet and armed with a knife entered a convenience store on Cliftonville Road. He made off with a sum of cash.
On Saturday night, at approximately 6.50pm, a male wearing a motorcycle helmet tried to enter an off licence in the Mountview Street area. He refused to remove his helmet so staff did not allow him to enter. When they said they would call the police, he left the premises.
Around 50 minutes later, at 7.40pm, a man fitting the same description stole cash from a filling station on the Crumlin Road.
No staff were injured in the incidents.
Detective Chief Inspector Alan Little said: "At present we believe that the investigations may be linked. Anyone with any information in relation to these incidents, or who may have seen anyone matching the description of the male near to the locations on Friday or Saturday, is asked to contact CID in Antrim Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
"Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
