School Funding Consultation To End
A public consultation for a controversial schools funding proposal ends today.
The consultation is seeking input over a department of education plan to change how the schools budget is distributed – with larger amounts going to schools in deprived areas.
It is understood that this is measured by the number of children entitled to free school meals.
Critics, including some school principals and politicians, have argued that this is not a good measure and that too many schools are losing money.
