560 Charged Over Disorder
A total of 560 people have been charged or reported to the Public Prosecution Service over public disorder connected to loyalist flag protests and 12 July parading.
The figure has been revealed by the PSNI as officers release further images of people they are keen to speak to in connection with Operation Titan.
The 150 images released today are part of enquiries into serious public disorder in the greater Belfast area on July 12 and 13 and August 8 and 9.
Releasing the images, Detective Superintendent Sean Wright, the Senior Investigating Officer, said: "In the past 12 months, police officers have dealt with a number of episodes of serious disorder on the streets of Northern Ireland. We have been clear from the outset that there would be consequences for individuals who seek to engage in illegal activity and we have been carrying out a thorough investigation to identify those involved and make them amenable for their actions.
"To date, a total of 440 people have been arrested as part of Operation Dulcet and Operation Titan, the investigations into illegal activity linked to the flag protests and parades. A total of 560 people have been charged or reported to the Public Prosecution Service. We have trawled through 1,800 hours of CCTV footage and are processing more than 1,500 images."
The images are available on the PSNI website.
