Bombardier Secures 8-Year Contract
Bombardier Aerospace has secured an eight-year contract with Oman Air.
The deal will see Bombardier undertake all repair work on Rolls-Royce Trent 700 inlet cowls for Oman Air's fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft.
Speaking from the Bombardier stand at the Dubai Air Show, Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster said: "Today’s announcement signals the continued success of Bombardier's expanding component repair and overhaul business centred at its new facility in Newtownabbey, from which it is servicing a wide range of international customers."
Bombardier established a new dedicated nacelles manufacturing and component repair facility at Doagh Road, Newtownabbey in 2012.
The facility supplies engine nacelles to Bombardier, Airbus, Rolls-Royce and other customers.
"Bombardier has been providing a full range of maintenance support for more than 20 years in Belfast, and this announcement highlights their commitment to offering comprehensive aftermarket support solutions," Minister Foster said.
"It also endorses Bombardier Belfast’s ability to offer local repair solutions at competitive prices to the company’s growing customer base.
"Over recent years, Invest Northern Ireland has been working closely with aerospace companies to support growth and ensure that the sector remains internationally competitive. I am confident Northern Ireland's aerospace sector will continue to build on its growing reputation for excellence in the future."
