Microsoft Ireland Creates 30 New Development Roles
Microsoft Ireland has announced the creation of 30 new development roles at its Irish based operations in Dublin.
The new positions are located at its European Development Centre and are in the Microsoft Office Division, and in Applications Media and Publishing Group at Microsoft. In addition to these new positions, the Company also announced the creation of 35 new graduate positions across all parts of its business. It is also currently recruiting for a range of professional services roles in its Europe Middle East & Africa Operations Centre as well as its Sales and Marketing Organisations.
This expansion has been supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.
The Application Media and Publishing (AMP) Group is recruiting developer roles who develop and test software, as well as program managers who will be involved in building a world class online sports experience. The people who come on stream in these jobs will focus on creating and building a scalable infrastructure, and relevant personalised experiences for consumers to enjoy across every device, on the web or via an app.
The new roles in the Microsoft Office Division include Development, Test and Program Management positions. This team is responsible for developing mission critical features across the Microsoft Office software and service portfolio.
The team also develops the technology behind the Cloud based Office 365 subscription model for consumers, which has already had millions of users. The team is also responsible for developing the integrated Office app store.
At the announcement of the new investment Mr Richard Bruton, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation said: "Central to our plans for jobs and growth is deepening and developing the impact of multinational companies. Microsoft was one of the first tech investors to come to Ireland and its presence here has been instrumental in helping us to attract other world-leading companies in the sector.
"Today's announcement that they are adding further jobs in strategically important areas is great news for Dublin and for Ireland. I am determined to ensure that, with continued supports from Government, we can see further announcements like this."
