Football club damaged in suspected arson attack
A Co Antrim football club has been damaged in a suspected arson attack this morning.
The fire at Millbrook Recreation Club was spotted by a passing police patrol at around 2am on Monday morning.
Four fire crews were involved in putting out the blaze which is believed to have started when a 900 litre oil tank was set on fire beside the building.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has introduced a new online tool to help residents assess their home fire safety. The Home Fire Safety Check coincides with Fire Safety Week, which runs from September 30th to October 6th. The initiative aims to reduce the number of house fires in Northern Ireland.

Petrol bomb attack damages Glenavon supporters club
Substantial damage has been caused to a supporters club premises at the home of Glenavon football club in Lurgan. Fire brigade personnel were called to Mournview Park shortly after 6am on Monday to extinguish the blaze which is believed to have started following a possible petrol bomb attack. A number of items were removed for further examination.

Blues Captain Now Charged Over Counterfeit Allegations
A top Northern Ireland footballer is today facing a possible eight year sentence in a Spanish jail. It has emerged that the captain of Linfield football club, William 'Winkie' Murphy, has been charged with passing counterfeit bank notes in Spain.

Police officers injured during rioting
Two police officers have been injured during rioting in Antrim on Sunday night. The two officers were injured when a petrol bomb was thrown during rioting in the Stiles estate in Antrim town at around 10pm. A 24-year-old man was arrested after order was eventually restored.
