Trio Jailed Over Dungannon Sham Wedding
Two Polish woman has been sentenced to a total of 22 months in connection with a sham wedding.
43-year-old Agnieszka Kobus, from Chestnut Grove in Aughnacloy, County Tyrone, was arrested on 17 October 2012 when she attempted to marry 28-year-old Muhammad Zafran in
The ceremony was stopped by Home Office Immigration Enforcement officers.
Hanna Adamczyk, 42, who was living at the same address, had agreed to act as a witness at the ceremony.
Kobus was sentenced to 12 months for her part in the plot; six months will be served in custody with six months on licence.
Adamczyk, 42, was given a 10-month sentence, suspended for two years. She had flown from Poland to take part in the plot.
Zafran was sentenced at Dungannon Crown Court to 16 months in jail on 23 May 2013.

Rogue DJ Sentenced To Six Months
A rogue DJ who cancelled appearances at a number of weddings at the last minute, by falsely claiming his father had died, has been jailed for six months. Michael Stockman, 31, who traded as Northwest Discos, was found guilty of 12 counts of theft. He was also ordered to pay compensation of £1,200 to his victims.

Pharmacist Sentenced For Drug Offences
A 27-year-old pharmacist from Belfast has been sentenced to 180 hours of community service for unlawfully possessing and stealing controlled prescription drugs. Adam Hanna pleaded guilty to charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and the Theft Act 1969. The offences took place at a North Belfast pharmacy between January and March 2024.
