New Programmes For Supporting Businesses Launches
Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister, Arlene Foster, has launched a suite of seven new programmes aimed at supporting businesses in the Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council area.
The programmes are supported by Invest Northern Ireland through the Local Economic Development (LED) measure of the EU Sustainable Competitiveness Programme. Part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, LED supports councils to help them address the particular needs of businesses in their area.
Speaking at the launch, Arlene Foster said: "The programmes being delivered by councils are bringing wide ranging benefits to a large number of our small and medium sized local businesses.
"The seven new programmes launched today, aimed at supporting both first time entrepreneurs and established businesses, will be no exception.
"Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council has listened to local businesses in the area and is ensuring that the right support is provided when and where it is most needed."
Mayor, Councillor Sean McGuigan, welcoming the programmes and the substantial investment, added: "As a Council we endeavour to create the conditions to drive economic growth for the borough. Small medium enterprises are one of our greatest strengths and these development programmes will provide opportunity for both new and existing businesses to train, plan and improve performance to ensure continued growth in what is challenging economic environment."
