Man Bailed Over Pub Brawl

Police in Castlereagh are appealing for information following an assault in the Newton Park area of Belfast on Sunday 15 December.

Police received a report at about 02:15 of a fight involving a number of males outside licensed premises in the area.

A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment for serious head injuries. A-33-year-old man was arrested and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with any information to contact them at Castlereagh Police Station on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Officers Injured In One-Vehicle Crash

Three police officers have been injured in a crash in L'Derry.

The accident occurred when the vehicle they were travelling in crashed on Creggan Road on Sunday at morning at 03:00.

The officers were treated in hospital for their injuries and released later that morning.

Man With Hatchet Robs W Belfast Off-Licence

An off-licence and a bookmakers shop have been robbed in separate incidents in west Belfast.

A masked man with a hatchet entered an off-licence on the Whiterock Road at about 18:25 on Saturday evening.

The man threatened staff and left with a sum of money.

A second man waited at the door and the pair then made off on foot.

In a separate robbery, two men, one armed with a gun, entered a bookmakers on the Falls Road at about 21:00 the same night.

They threatened staff and left with one worker's purse.

Both men made off on foot in the direction of St James Road.

Men Threatened In Castlewellan Robbery

Two men have been threatened during an armed robbery in Castlewellan in County Down.

The incident began when three masked men carrying guns went into a flat on the Ballyloughlin Road on Monday morning.

One of the occupants was hit in the face with a gun.

The gang took a sum of money and then left. Police have appealed for information.

Man Dies In Co L'Derry House Fire
A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Witness Appeal After Stabbing Incident In Downpatrick
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following an assault in the Ardilea Park area of Downpatrick in the early hours of Sunday morning, 10 December. A 22-year-old man was found with serious stab wounds at a house in the Killough Road area just after 4am. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital by ambulance.

Serious Road Crash In L'Derry
A serious road crash has occurred on the Chapel Road in L'Derry. A car and a motorbike where involved in the incident, according to the police. One man, believed to be a teenager, has been taken to hospital where his injuries are believed to be serious. The road has been closed at its junctions with Newlyn Terrace and Spencer Road.

Number Of Roads Remain Closed Following Storm Ali
A number of roads remain closed across Northern Ireland following the damage caused by Storm Ali. The following roads are still closed, however the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) is working to clear the obstructions along with its multiagency partners.
