Royal Mail Van Hijacked
A Royal Mail van has been hijacked by a man with a screwdriver in north Belfast.
The attack occurred in the Glendore Avenue area of the city at about 08:00 on Wednesday morning.
The driver was forced from the vehicle by a man reported to be 6" tall with a shaved head and wearing a blue coloured jacket.
The man drove off in the van but it was later found in Skegoneill Avenue.
The Royal Mail driver was not injured but was but left badly shaken.
Teens Arrested In Dissident Inquiry
Two teenagers have been arrested as part of investigations into dissident republican activity.
A 19-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were detained in Forkhill, Co Armagh and have been taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
The arrests are part of a PSNI Serious Crime Branch investigation into dissident republicanism.
Belfast To Host Circuit Of Ireland
Belfast has been named as a key host of the 2014 Circuit of Ireland Rally.
The ceremonial start and finish of the rally will take place in the city.
Thousands of spectators and team officials will arrive in Belfast for the event, with an extra 10m expected to watch from around the world.
Lord Mayor, Councillor Máirtín Ó Muilleoir said: "It’s fantastic to welcome another high profile sporting event to the city. Belfast is continuing to grow in stature as one of the world’s premier sporting venues. We hosted the World Police and Fire Games in the summer of 2013 attracting visitors from all corners of the globe. With the circuit of Ireland on its way as well as the Giro d ‘Italia, 2014 looks set to be another bumper year for sport and attracting increased tourism to Belfast."
PSNI Reminds 'Get Home Safe'
The PSNI has released a 'get home safe' reminder to festive party-goers.
Councillor Deirdre Hargey, chair of the South Belfast District Policing and Community Partnership (DPCSP), said: "This weekend is always one of the busiest for the city’s night time economy, with many workers finishing for their Christmas break, and office parties and events taking place in venues across the city.
"It’s fantastic to see so many people out enjoying themselves in the city, but at this time of year we remind people of the importance of their personal safety. We’d remind anyone out celebrating the season to stick with friends, not leave their drinks unattended, and make sure they know how they’re getting home in advance. The simple message of the campaign is, 'Get Home Safe'."

Loyalist rioters who are violently protesting the flying of the union flag at Belfast City Hall are destroying their own communities and playing into Sinn Féin's hands. This was the message from Jimmy Birch, a UDA man from east Belfast who was speaking to the BBC as part of a Radio Ulster documentary called 'Inside The Flag Protests'.

Police are appealing for help in the search for missing man Robert Darling. The PSNI branch in Belfast City Centre is leading the search for the 40-year-old. Robert is around 5ft 8" tall and of medium build. Anyone who sees him or knows where he is has been asked to contact PSNI on 101 - the incident number you need is 874 21/11.
