Charity's Appeal Over 'Appalling' Dog Abuse Video
Police have said they are investigating video footage of suspected animal abuse in Banbridge.
The video, which has been widely circulated on social networking site Facebook, has also prompted animal charity, USPCA, to offer a reward for information.
In a statement, the charity said: "The footage reported to us by many concerned Facebook users is utterly appalling. Those involved in the abuse must be placed before a court.
"The USPCA has spoken to PSNI and offered our full support for their investigation.
"This Charity is offering a reward of £500 for information passed to the PSNI that leads to a conviction."
It added that the dog in the video "clearly needs veterinary care and we will provide this through our Newry Veterinary Hospital."
Many of those who have viewed the video have reported it to both police and the USPCA.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said investigations are ongoing.
Anyone with information, such as where the incident occurred, the whereabouts of the dog, or the identity of the abusers, are asked to contact police directly or anonymously via charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
