'Money Matters' Roadshows Come To Belfast

Belfast City Council is helping people be creative and deal with financial problems this month following the spending sprees of the festive season.

They have organised a series of 'Money Matters' road shows at community centres across the city giving advice on debt relief, money management, warm homes and cooking on a budget.

The Lord Mayor, Councillor Máirtín Ó Muilleoir, said: "January is a particularly difficult month moneywise for many people. We are hit with the bills of the festive season as well as the daily difficulties people have in making the most of their money.

"The road shows are a great way to get some ideas about dealing with debt and how to make your money go a little further on a daily basis.

"They provide practical tips and advice which are useful to everyone whether coping alone or within a family."

The Money Matters road shows are taking place on:
  • 20 January - Dee Street Community Centre
  • 21 January - Suffolk Community Centre
  • 28 January - Ardoyne Community Centre
  • 29 January - Carrick Hill Community Centre
  • 31 January - Divis Community Centre.
