Man Arrested Over Warrenpoint Attack
A 38-year-old man has been arrested following an attack on a man in Warrenpoint, Co Down.
A 38-year-old man was attacked in a house in the Springfield Road area of the town at around 01:30 on Friday morning.
He is currently recovering from his injuries in hospital.
Woman Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
A woman was convicted at Downpatrick Crown Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
Julie Wright, 48, of Fair Green Terrace, Saintfield, claimed Income Support, Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £40,093 while failing to declare capital. She was given 180 hours community service.
She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
'Much Anticipated' Playpark Opened In Downpatrick
Social Development Nelson McCausland has opened a new £160,000 play park at Ballymote in Downpatrick.
"Play is an integral part of children's development helping build social skills and also promoting active and healthy lifestyles," the Minister said.
"This new play park will provide a much needed source of fun and enjoyment for young people and families in the area and will also enhance the local environment. I am pleased that my department has been able to fund this very worthwhile project."

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a report of an assault at licenced premises at the Rathfriland Road area of Dromara. Detective Inspector Bell said: "Shortly before 10:10pm on Friday 15th December, it was reported that an altercation occurred at a bar in the area following three men refused entry to the premises.

An 18-year-old man has died following a collision in Portadown. The crash happened on the Dungannon Road between midnight and 12.30am on Wednesday, 08 November. The road has been re-opened. Elsewhere, a man, aged in his 30's, has died in a road collision in Co Antrim.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
