PSNI Vehicle Involved In M1 Crash

A PSNI vehicle was involved in a three-vehicle crash on the M1 in Belfast on Monday night.

The incident occurred as officers were responding to another two-vehicle collision on the motorway that occurred on the M1 Westbound before 18:45.

The police vehicle was then involved in a collision with another two vehicles at the Broadway underpass.

An adult and a child were injured and taken to hospital.

The Westlink was closed between Grosvenor Road and Broadway Westbound for a time but has now been re-opened.

Woman Sexually Assaulted In Hospital

A woman has been sexually assaulted in the grounds of Craigavon Area Hospital.

Police launched a search for two men who are said to have been involved.

The attack on the 33-year-old woman happened last Wednesday evening at about 20:00. Details have just emerged.

Both men are described as being foreign, possibly eastern European, and aged 30-40.

Confiscation Order Against Belfast woman

The Social Security Agency Financial Investigation Unit obtained a Confiscation Order to the value of £7,500 against Pauline McCaughley, 45, of Old Colin, Poleglass at Belfast Crown Court yesterday.

Ms McCaughley had claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit on the grounds that she was a carer for her partner and had no income.

However, she had failed to declare that she held funds in her bank accounts and received £38,724 in benefits she was not entitled to over a four-year period.

At the confiscation hearing the Court granted a Confiscation Order in amount of £7,500 with a six months prison sentence in default of non-payment. She has until 13 October 2014 to satisfy the order.

Man Convicted Of Fisheries Offence

A man has been convicted at Dungannon Court today of fisheries offences.

Gediminas Valuikas from Drumflugh Road, Benburb, was charged with fishing by unlicensed and unfair means and trespassing on a several fishery

Mr Valuikas was fined £100, an offender levy of £15, costs of £75 and court costs of £19.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Woman Dies In Co Fermanagh Crash
A woman has died in a one-vehicle crash in Co Fermanagh. The collision happened on the Newbridge Road in Derrylin just after midnight on Saturday. Another woman and a man were taken to hospital to be treated. Their injuries are believed to be serious. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Woman Critical After Lough Erne Rescue
A woman is in a critical condition after being pulled from a submerged car in Lough Erne, County Fermanagh. Police received a report of a vehicle in the water at Muckros Pier on the Boa Island Road in Kesh at around 10.25pm on Saturday 15 June. Two officers from a nearby patrol entered the lake and managed to free the woman from the sinking car.

18-Year-Old Woman Dies In L'Derry Road Crash
An 18-year-old woman has died following a single vehicle road crash in L'Derry. The collision occurred on the Letterkenny Road at around 11.30pm on Wednesday, 12 September. The victim was a passenger in a Vauxhall Corsa that was involved in the crash close to Nixon's Corner.

Investigation Launched Following Fatal Crash In Co Antrim
Police have launched an investigation following a fatal crash in Co Antrim. The collision, between a bus and a car, happened in Randalstown at around 2.45pm on Sunday, 11 February. A 58-year-old woman died as a result of injuries she sustained in the incident. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
