NI Businesses Develop Strategy For Success
15 Northern Ireland businesses have completed a business programme funded by Belfast City Council that seeks to further success in the marketplace.
The Strategy in Business Programme encourages small businesses and social enterprises in the city to be innovative and to develop a 'strategy' to grow and take advantage of the opportunities the marketplace will offer.
Representatives from the 15 businesses were at City Hall on Thursday to mark completion of the initiative.
Congratulating the companies and wishing them continuing success, Councillor Hargey said: "Developing a strategy to grow your business whether you are starting out or an existing business is a very important goal.
"The support the Strategy in Business Programme offers is particularly significant in the current challenging economic climate as it encourages businesses to be innovative and focused on achieving successful outcomes for growth.
Lyndon Stephens of Champion Sound Music, one of the participants who completed the programme, said: "The Strategy in Business programme was very useful to us as a fairly new business because it forced us to focus on the future and long term success.
"We now have a very clear plan going forward that not only acts as a roadmap to short term results but lays other foundations that ensure the business will be successful in the long game."
The Strategy in Business programme was delivered for the council by Work West Enterprise Agency. The programme is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland.
