Tyco To Create 500 New Posts In Cork
Fianna Fáil TD for Cork South Central, Micheál Martin TD, has welcomed the announcement by Tyco that it expects to create 500 new jobs in Cork.
Deputy Martin commented: "The announcement that fire protection and security firm Tyco will potentially create over 500 jobs in Cork is welcome news and a real boost for the economy in the city and county.
"The news is particularly welcome considering Tyco's decision to close its operations here in 2008. It is also a reminder that Cork remains an attractive location for inward investment and for existing multi-nationals to expand their footprint in the county.
"The jobs announcement is a vote of confidence to the highly skilled graduates we have in Cork and the technical qualifications they have to offer.
"I am calling on the Government to make a targeted effort to attract investors to Cork and to provide much needed support to small businesses in this county."
