Caterpillar To Invest £5.4m In Larne
Caterpillar has announced a £5.4m expansion of its truck parts manufacturing operations in Northern Ireland.
The US engineering firm has said that it will maintain up to 100 jobs at its plant in Larne, Co Antrim.
The announcement follows a test production period carried out over the last few months at the plant. The company will now permanently source axles from Northern Ireland.
"It is also a testament to the cost competitiveness of manufacturing in Northern Ireland and advantages the local facilities have in terms of proximity to customers, access to ports and other transportation infrastructure," Robert Kennedy, Caterpillar Northern Ireland Operations Director said.
