£600,000 Allocated For E-Car Charge Points Across NI
One hundred additional charge points for electric car are to be installed across Northern Ireland as part of £9m UK scheme aimed at encourage more people to switch to e-cars.
£600,000 has been allocated to install the charge points at hospitals, health trusts, libraries and council offices.
The move will bring the total number of charge points in NI to 500.
"This is a very significant boost for our growing e-car infrastructure in Northern Ireland," Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy said.
Adding: "With electric cars costing from just 2p a mile to run, drivers have an ever increasing range of options when considering the type of car they choose to drive."

Work Underway For Free Hospital Parking In Northern Ireland
Work has begun at several hospital sites across Northern Ireland as part of the preparations for the introduction of free car parking in May 2026. Health and Social Care Trusts have been actively preparing for the implementation of a new traffic management system since the Hospital Parking Charges Act was passed in 2022.
