Multi-million pound launch is music to Belfast's ears
A multi-million pound record label was launched in Belfast today in a bid to revolutionise the local music industry.
Wren Records hope their label will "provide marketing and promotional support for every kind of Irish music act".
The label is currently working on four diverse projects from the innovative ‘Memories of Ireland’ DVD of Irish scenery and music, targeted at the tourist market, to the more modern rock of Tyrone Relph and Tony McLoughlin, and the classical Luke Daniels.
Wren, which currently employs four full-time staff, expects further expansion over the next few years thanks to sales of their new products.
Current revenue is estimated at £500,000 in the first year, growing rapidly to £2 million by its third year.

Jobs concerns at Castledawson shirt factory
Trade Union leaders have again expressed concerns that jobs are to go the Saville Row shirt factory in Castledawson, Co Londonderry. There are fears that up to 65 jobs could go at the Castledawson factory which makes shirts for the designer label retailer Thomas Pink. The Saville Row factory currently employs a round 190 people.

Education Minister, Paul Givan, has announced the opening of online applications for the Targeted Early Years Pathway Fund for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 academic years. The Pathway Fund, introduced in 2016, aims to provide early years education services for children aged 0-4 who may be at risk of falling behind in their education.
