Man Convicted Over £30k Benefit Fraud
A man has been sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for two years, after claiming more than £30,000 in benefits to which he was not entitled.
44-year-old Colin McCleary of Alexandra Gardens, Belfast claimed Income Support, Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £30,456 while failing to declare capital. He was given a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years.
He is also required to repay any outstanding money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
Woman Arrested Over Hit And Run
A woman has been arrested in connection with an incident in which a traffic attendant was struck by a car in Omagh, County Tyrone.
The man was outside a shop in the High Street area of the town on Friday, when he was struck by a silver Honda Accord car at about 14:50, which then drove off.
He is not believed to have sustained serious injuries.
On Sunday, the woman was detained on suspicion of dangerous driving, common assault, failing to stop and failure to remain at the scene.
The woman has been released on bail bail pending further inquiries.
PSNI Vehicle In Three-Car Crash
A PSNI vehicle has been involved in a three-car crash in Ballymena, County Antrim, this morning.
A Volkswagen and a Ford Fiesta were also involved in the crash, which occurred on Linenhall Street in the town at around 08:50.
Three people, including two police officers, were taken to Antrim Area Hospital.
Woman In Hospital After House Fire
A 45-year-old woman has been taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after a small fire broke out in a terrace house in Coleraine.
The incident occurred on Saturday at about 14:30 at the property in Drumard Drive.
Firefighters arrived on the scene and used a microvent to treat the woman for smoke inhalation.
She was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Woman Dies In Co Fermanagh Crash
A woman has died in a one-vehicle crash in Co Fermanagh. The collision happened on the Newbridge Road in Derrylin just after midnight on Saturday. Pensioner Killed In Bus Crash
An elderly woman has died after being knocked down by a bus at Wellington Road in Enniskillen. Kitty Gault, 78, was taken to Erne Hospital following the accident which happened at about 11:30am on Wednesday, she died shortly before 2pm. Police are appealing for witnesses.

A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.
