Business Ambassador Programme Launches
Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster has launched the Business Ambassador Programme.
The joint initiative between Invest Northern Ireland, Visit Belfast and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board aims to showcase Northern Ireland as a world class region in which to invest and do business.
Speaking to over 60 business leaders at the launch event, Arlene Foster said: "Over 70% of all UK and international events that come to Belfast are secured by the help of a local ambassador who convinces their company, customers, suppliers or contacts to host its next conference, meeting or event in the city.
"This new Business Ambassador Programme aims to harness the support of the local business community and diaspora network to attract even more national and international business events to the region, boosting visitor numbers and spend for the local economy.
"Using this platform to highlight our strengths in key sectors such as business services, renewable and creative industries will be central to driving business tourism and supporting trade, innovation and investment in these areas."
