40 New Jobs Announced At SDC Trailers

Mid Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone has welcomed news Toomebridge-based manufacturing firm SDC Trailers has secured a £1.25 million overseas contract, creating 40 new jobs.

Mr McGlone, who is chair of the Assembly's DETI committee, said the creation of new jobs by a long established firm was "a good news story".

Mr McGlone said: "In a week when we witnessed 202 people put out of work due to the collapse of Dungiven firm KPL, which has affected so many sub-contractors and suppliers, this is a good news story. This is a long established company that has proactively made efforts to break into a new overseas market. 40 jobs will be created at the Creagh site, on the shop floor and in managerial positions, and I understand hiring will start immediately."
