Man Arrested Over Woman's Murder
Police have confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Omagh.
On Sunday morning, 36-year-old Mairead McCallion was found at a property in Castleview Court in the town. She had suffered from head injuries and was taken to hospital.
She died the following day.
It is understood a man, aged 50, has now been arrested in Omagh in connection to Ms McCallion's death. Police have said he is being questioned on suspicion of murder.
In a statement, Detective Chief Inspector Richard Harkness, asked for anyone with information to contact them.
He said: "We are keen to speak with anyone who may have any information which could assist us and I would urge members of the community in Omagh to contact us.
"We are interested in talking to those who knew or saw Mairead, not just in the days leading up to her death, but over the past number of years.
"People may know something that could provide us with important information to enable us to get justice for Mairead. I can assure you that if you do come forward, your information will be treated in the utmost confidence."
People are asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000.
