Taxi Driver Attacked In Attempted Hijacking
A taxi driver has been attacked in west Belfast after a man tried to hijack his cab.
The incident occurred in the Victoria Parade area in the early hours of Saturday 8 March at about 01:45.
It has been reported that the taxi driver was at the rear of his taxi assisting with a fare when a male jumped into the driver's seat and attempted to drive off.
When the man realised there were no keys in the car he got out and became involved in an altercation with the taxi driver. A second male who was a passenger in another taxi also became involved in the altercation.
The taxi driver managed to escape to safety from the two males, but did sustain some minor injuries in the incident.
A 25-year-old man was arrested a short time later. He was interviewed and subsequently released on bail pending further enquiries.
Appeal Over Aggravated Burglary, Portrush
Detectives in Coleraine are appealing for information over an aggravated burglary at a house in the Hopefield Gardens area of Portrush, County Antrim.
At around 22:00, five masked men entered the house and tied up two female occupants with cable ties.
One of the males was carrying a suspected firearm and the others were armed with knives.
All of the intruders were wearing Goretex type walking jackets; one red, one blue and the others dark coloured. They were also all wearing black balaclavas and gloves.
One was described as being aged in his 30s with grey coloured hair and one was described as being approximately 5'4" tall. The males made off with a black money box and a gold piggybank. The two females had bruised and sore wrists and were left traumatised by the ordeal. They were taken to hospital and treated for shock.
Detectives have appealed for anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity or who may have any information to contact them at CID in Coleraine.
They are particularly keen to identify the occupants of a white coloured van seen in the area of Hopefield Gardens or Portrush from around midday on Thursday and throughout the day.
The van is possibly a VW transporter or camper type with windows all round and a grey tinted window on the driver side and had a set of ladders on the roof. There were at least four males in the vehicle at the time.
Appeal Over Lurgan Burglary
Detectives are appealing for info following an aggravated burglary in Lurgan on the evening of Friday 7 March.
At around 20:20 it was reported that at least four masked males had entered a house in the Willow Tree Manor area.
The males tied up the male and female occupants before demanding money and searching the house. They then made off with a small sum of cash.
Detectives are keen to speak to witnesses and would especially like to hear from anyone who noticed any suspicious people or vehicles in the Willow Tree Manor or Gilford Road areas between 20:00 and 20:20 on the evening of the attack.

Man Robbed On Chichester Street, Belfast
A man has been robbed while walking along Chichester Street in Belfast.
At around 21:30 on Friday 7 March a 32-year-old man was walking along Chichester Street close to the junction of Callender Street when he was approached by an unknown male.
This male produced a knife and threatened the man, demanding his mobile phone. The man handed over the phone and his attacker made off along Callender Street in the direction of Castle Lane. The man was not injured during the incident.
The suspect is described as being aged approximately 18-19 years old, 5'6" tall, of slim build with short dark hair. He had a "scruffy look" and was wearing a grey sports rain coat, jeans and black woollen gloves.
Police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Man Dies In Co Down Road Collision
A motorist who died in a two-vehicle road crash in Ballywalter has been named as Dean Weir. Mr Weir, aged 52, was the driver of a white Suzuki Alto that was involved in a collision with a blue Nissan Micra on the Dunover Road shortly before 9am on Friday, 17 March. Mr Weir was originally from Bangor and lived in Portavogie.

Taxi Driver Jailed For Threatening Man With Firearm
A 49-year-old taxi driver who used an imitation firearm to threaten a man has been jailed for 10 months. At Laganisde Crown Court, Brian Stalford, was sentenced to 10 months in custody and 10 months on licence, having previouwly pled guilty to possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Man Dies In A1 Collision
A man has died in a collision in Banbridge, Co Down. The crash happened on the A1 dual carriageway at around 12.30pm on Tuesday, 13 June. The man died at the scene and another male is in a critical condition in hospital. The road has since been re-opened.

Armed Man Attempts To Hijack Driver In Belfast
A man armed with a hammer attempted to hijack a delivery driver in Belfast on Friday night. The incident occurred on Albert Street shortly after 9.30pm. The armed man stepped onto the road in an apparent attempt to force the vehicle to stop. The driver avoided the male and as he drove around him, the male struck the side of the van with the hammer.
