W Belfast Paramilitary Searches: Men Released
Two men arrested in west Belfast following searches by police investigating suspected paramilitary activity have now been released.
One of the men, aged 39, was released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service. The other, aged 47, was released unconditionally.
The arrests followed a security operation at Norglen Crescent earlier on Thursday. Officers from the Serious Crime Branch discovered a 'suspicious' object and an army bomb team was called in to investigate.
Security Alert On Blacks Road, Belfast
Police have announced a security alert in place in the Blacks Road area of Belfast this morning, following the discovery of a suspicious object near the junction with Arlington Drive.
The road has been closed and a number of homes are now being evacuated.
Appeal Renewed Over Missing Belfast Man
A renewed appeal for information has been released by detectives investigating the disappearance of Martin Kelly, from Belfast, who went missing on 1 January 2006. Today would have been Mr Kelly’s 30th birthday.
Martin Kelly from Kinnegar Drive was last seen by friends at a bar in Garmoyle Street in south Belfast on New Year's Day 2006. Martin, who is about 6ft 1in tall and of slim build with short dark hair, was wearing a black Guinness T-shirt and blue jeans.
On New Year's Day, he and his friends went to Pats Bar in Garmoyle Street to watch a football match. The friends left and Martin remained in the bar talking to other customers. He left at about 19:10 and hasn't been seen since.
Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
Magherafelt Security Alert Ends
A security alert in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry has ended after it was declared an elaborate hoax.
A suspicious object was discovered and examined by army bomb experts in the Tobermore Road area.
The road was closed between the Ballyheifer Road and Glenmaquill Road for several hours but has now reopened.

A number of roads remain closed across Northern Ireland following the damage caused by Storm Ali. The following roads are still closed, however the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) is working to clear the obstructions along with its multiagency partners.

Road Closed In North Belfast Following Collision
The Ligoniel Road in north Belfast has closed following a one-vehicle collision. The road has been closed in both directions near the Wolfhill Road, according to the police. Diversions have been put in place and motorists are being advised to avoid the area. No other details have been released.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.
