New Non-Emergency Police Number Introduced

A new non-emergency number has been introduced by the PSNI.

The new 101 number is for people to speak to the police in cases that are not emergencies and replaces the 0845 600 8000 number that has been in use since 2005.

Chief Constable Matt Baggott said the new number would "help to free up the 999 system for genuine emergencies".

Co Down Firm Secures Eurofighter Parts Contract

A £1 million contract to supply parts for fighter jets used by the RAF has been won buy Co Down-based Denroy Plastics.

The Bangor company will create parts for the Typhoon Eurofighter, bringing the total number of parts the company manufactures for the jet to 180.

RNLI Confirm Recused Man Helping Police With Investigation

The RNLI have reported that one of the anglers rescued in Co Westmeath last Thursday is now awake and helping police with their investigation.

60-year-old John Trimble is recovering in hospital after a boat he and two other men were in sank in Lough Ree.

David Warnock (27), from Richhill, Co Armagh died shortly after being rescued from the lake.

And 30-year-old Darryl Burke, from Portadown, is still missing.

Shots Fired At House In Belfast
A man and woman have escaped injury after shots were fired at a house in south Belfast. They were inside the property in Powerscourt Place when the attack was carried out at approximately 10.25pm on Wednesday 31 October. Two shots were fired and two windows were damaged.

Appeal Issued After Cyclist Injured During Incident On The Lagan Towpath
Police have issued an appeal after a cyclist was injured during an incident with a pedestrian on the Lagan Towpath. The PSNI received a report of an incident in the McIlroy Park area at around 3.30pm on Monday, 07 October.

Renewed Appeal For Help To Trace 21-Year-Old Lee Johnston
The PSNI have issued a renewed appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of 21-year-old high-risk missing person Lee Johnston, from the Coleraine area. Lee was first reported missing to police on the evening of Friday, 13th October and police said that it is "out of character" for Lee to not to have been in contact with his family.

Man Critical Following Coleraine Crash
A man in his 80s is in critical condition following a crash between a car and a digger in County L'Derry. The collision happened on the Quilly Road between Articlave and Coleraine at around 10pm on Monday, 16 September. A Citroen C3 car and a Manitou digger were involved. The road was closed for some time but has since reopened.

Shots Fired At House In Lurgan
