New Chief Executive For Health Board
A new chief executive has been appointed to Northern Ireland's Health and Social Care Board.
Ms Valerie Watts will begin her new role at the beginning of July.
She is currently the chief executive of Aberdeen City Council, but previously held the same position at Derry City Council between July 2008 and February 2011.
Her appointment has been welcomed by Northern Ireland Health Minister Edwin Poots. He said: "The health service in Northern Ireland is facing a very challenging period like many health services across the developed world with ageing populations, increasing chronic conditions and financial constraints.
"I believe Ms Watts has the vision, drive and commitment to lead the delivery of health and social care forward while supporting the delivery of better patient care for everyone."

DoH Appoints New Chief Allied Health Professionals Officer
The Department of Health (DoH) has announced the upcoming appointment of a new Chief Allied Health Professions Officer for Northern Ireland. Ms Michelle Tennyson has been appointed to the position and will take up the role from January 2024.

Health Minister Robin Swann has announced funding of more than £260,000 has been awarded to The Rainbow Project and HERe NI, from the Mental Health Support Fund. The fund was established by the Health Minister to enable charities and organisations across Northern Ireland to enhance the vital mental health support and help on offer.

Cancer Patients Missing Out On NI Treatment Targets
Cancer patients across Northern Ireland are starting treatment late as health trusts fail on basic performance standards, it has emerged. Last April, the health minister said 95% of people who were urgently referred with suspected cancer should begin treatment within 62 days.
