Belfast Firm Creates 100 New Jobs
A total of 100 new jobs are to be created as part of a £40m investment in Northern Ireland.
Delta Print and Packaging, which is based in west Belfast, designs and manufactures cartons and packaging for food and electronics companies, such as McDonalds and Nokia.
Established in 1984 and based at Kennedy Way, 95% of Delta's sales are outside Northern Ireland.
It is understood 31 of the new jobs are already in place, while the remaining 69 jobs will take the total workforce to 269. As well as creating new jobs, the investment will see the company extend its factory and install state-of-the-art machinery and bespoke technology to enable it to increase capacity and efficiency.
Welcoming the investment, First Minister Peter Robinson said: "Investment such as this helps Northern Ireland to meet the challenges we have set within our Economic Strategy – to improve Northern Ireland’s economic competitiveness through export-led growth and to increase employment opportunities and prosperity for all."
Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness added: "Delta Print and Packaging generate annual wages and salaries of £8m a year to the local economy and this announcement is good news for existing and potential employees and other local businesses."
