Burning Van Believed To Be Connected To ATM Robbery

Police in Co Armagh say they believe that a van found on fire is connected to the theft of a petrol stations cash machine on Tuesday night.

The burning van was discovered around 23:30 on Wednesday night near College Lands Road, in the village of Charlemont.

The van was still burning when it was found so police put the fire out and removed the vehicle for forensic examination.

According to police, it is believed that the van is connected to the theft of a filling station's cash machine on the Pomeroy Road in Donaghmore, Co Tyrone.

Police renewed their appeal for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to contact them on the new non-emergency number 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
