ARC Devices Establishes Headquarters In NI
Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster today announced that medical device company, ARC Devices has established its headquarters in Northern Ireland, creating 13 high quality jobs.
Using the latest in sensor technology, ARC Devices develops and manufactures non-touch, infrared digital thermometers for use at home by consumers and in clinical environments by medical professionals. The company has decided to base its headquarters in Holywood, Co. Down, where it is undertaking design, support and market development activities.
Announcing the investment, Arlene Foster said: "The establishment of ARC Devices in Northern Ireland adds to our growing Life Sciences sector and introduces expertise in the niche field of thermometry.
"Life Sciences is an important sector characterised by knowledge-based activity and high levels of productivity, which can help to grow our local economy.
"I am pleased that ARC Devices is actively working closely with the newly founded Connected Health Innovation Centre 'CHIC' to explore new research opportunities which also have the ability to improve patient care.
"The support offered by Invest Northern Ireland, collaboration opportunities and the benefits of R&D tax relief available in the UK made Northern Ireland an attractive choice for ARC Devices in choosing where to base their operations."
Invest Northern Ireland has offered ARC Devices £74,000 towards its investment and is supporting six of the jobs.
