Man Arrested Over 1976 Killing
A 56-year-old man has been arrested in north Belfast in connection with the murder of 58-year-old John McCready.
The Protestant building contractor was killed 38 years ago after getting shot while he walked home from a club on the Cavehill Road in January 1976.
Mr McCready, who died in the hospital 10 days later, was shot by one of the three men who attacked him.
Police said the attack appeared to be a sectarian murder.
The man has been taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

Man Jailed For Killing Aiden Mann
A 38-year-old man is to serve a minimum of nine years in prison for killing Aiden Mann, aged 28, in January 2022. Barry Donnelly, appeared before Belfast Crown Court, having previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. He will serve an indeterminate custodial sentence, with a minimum tariff of nine years.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
