Controlled Explosion Carried Out In Co Tyrone
Army bomb experts have carried out a controlled explosion on a suspicious object in Strabane, Co Tyrone.
Police say that the object was found in the Ballycolman estate on Tuesday evening, and led to a number of residents being evacuated.
The object was removed for further examination.
Man Released In 1976 Murder Investigation
Police have released the 56-year-old man questioned in connection with the 1976 murder of John McCready.
The man was arrested in north Belfast on Monday but has now been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
He was questioned in connection with the 1976 murder of of building contractor John McCready, who was shot as he walked home along the Cavehill Road.
Police Appeal For Information On Armed Robbery
Police have appealed for witnesses after two masked men carried out an armed robbery in east Belfast.
The men, armed with a suspected firearm, demanded money from the filling station shop at Beersbridge Road at about 21:00 on Tuesday.
It is thought the men made off in the direction of Hynford Street.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on the new non-emergency number 101. The independent charity Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Jean Quigley Suspect Remanded
The man accused of murdering a Londonderry mother of four has been charged with her killing when he appeared in court in Castlerea, Co Roscommon, on Friday. Stephen Cahoon, 36, from Harvey Street in Derry, was asked where he wanted to be tried in relation to the death of Jean Quigley in July, and has opted for the Republic of Ireland.

A man arrested over the murder of a barman in the Shankill Road area of west Belfast almost 40 years ago has been released unconditionally. 47-year-old Alec Jamison was found shot dead in a derelict house at Argyle Street in the Shankill area on 5 March 1976. He had been reported missing a week earlier by his family.

Man Arrested In London Over 1976 Belfast Murder
A 60-year-old man has been arrested in London as part of a renewed investigation into a 1976 Belfast murder. Paul McNally was fatally shot, and another man seriously injured, as they left a bookmaker's shop at the junction of Brompton Park and Crumlin Road on 5 June 1976. The police say they believe it was a sectarian attack.
