Man Arrested Over P.O. Robbery

A man has been arrested in Belfast following a burglary at a Post Office in Portglenone, County Antrim.

The 28-year-old was arrested following the burglary, which occurred on Main Street and was reported at around 05:00 on Sunday morning.

About 20 minutes later a white Hyundai Classic was spotted travelling on the Lisnavenegh Road in Ballymena. Police believed the car to have been involved and pursued it as the vehicle made off towards Belfast along the M2 motorway. It is believed a quantity of cigarettes was thrown from the vehicle.

At about 05:35, the driver and passenger abandoned the vehicle in Tamar Street, east Belfast and made off on foot.

One man was arrested a short distance away in the Ravenscroft Street area on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.

N Belfast Car Attacks - Man Bailed

A 22-year-old man arrested following attacks on at least 31 cars in north Belfast has been bailed.

The man was detained by officers after members of the public reported someone damaging cars in the Ballygomartin Road area at about 06:00 on Sunday morning. He was released pending further police enquiries.

Pair Charged Following Car Theft

A 24- and 21-year-old man have been charged following the theft of a car from Joanmount Drive, north Belfast in the early hours of Friday 11 April and two subsequent road traffic collisions, one at the Monagh By-pass and the other at Kennedy Way roundabout.

The two men are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Thursday 8 May.

PSNI Appeal Over E. Belfast Robbery

The PSNI has launched an appeal following a robbery at commercial premises in the Castlereagh Road area of east Belfast during the early hours of Friday 11 April.

Shortly before 02:20, three men armed with crowbars forced their way into the premises and forced a member of staff to open a cigarette safe. The men locked the member of staff in a store before making off with cigarettes and a sum of cash. The member of staff was not injured but was left shaken by their ordeal.

Detectives have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw anyone in the area of Castlereagh Road or Wayland Street to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the new non-emergency number 101. The independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police Appeal Following Fatal Crash In Fermanagh
Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash in Co Fermanagh. A 42-year-old man died in the crash which happened on the Belfast Road in Brookeborough at around 8.35am on Friday, 08 June. The man was the driver of one of the vehicles involved. Police are appealing to anyone who may have dash can footage to contact them.

Woman Killed Following Crash On A2
A woman has been killed in a car crash on the Bangor to Belfast Road on Friday, 10 November. The collision happened on the A2 at Ballygilbert after 3pm. A child was also critically injured and is being treated in hospital. Another man involved was treated in hospital, however he has been discharged. The road has since been re-opened.

Man Dies In Three Car Collision In Dundrum
Police have issued an appeal for information following a fatal collision in Dundrum, Co Down. A 49-year-old man died at the scene of a three-car collision on the Belfast Road at about 12:20am on Thursday. It is understood that four other people are being treated in hospital following the collision.

Man Injured In East Belfast Collision
A man has been injured in a two-car collision in east Belfast. The crash happened on the Upper Newtownards Road just before 10.30am on Tuesday, 23 May. The man has been taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries. The road has been re-opened.

Man Arrested After Shots Fired In North Belfast
Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting incident in north Belfast. It is understood that the 22-year-old man was arrested following reports of shots being fired on Oceanic Avenue at about 21:50 on Thursday. Police say that a parked car was damaged in the incident.
