Ratepayers Reminded Of Early Payment Discount Deadline
Ratepayers have until Friday 02 May to pay their rate bill to receive the early payment discount.
The Land & Property Services (LPS) have reminded customers that the early payments discount deadline is fast approaching.
An LPS spokesperson explained: "If LPS receives payment in full, in a single payment by the discount day, you will receive a 4% discount on this year’s assessment. You must allow a minimum of five working days for payment to reach us."
Paying by Direct Debit has its benefits, as outlined by the spokesperson: "This is the easiest way to pay your bill, including a single payment in full. It takes all the hassle out of making manual payments and means you don’t have to worry about missing a payment or getting it to us on time. If you require further information on paying by Direct Debit, please call us on 0300 200 7801 or visit the nidirect website.
"There are a number of other payment options available to you, these include: standing order; telephone and internet banking; cheque; online; and using a ‘Rates Quick-Pay Card’ which customers bring along to any Post Office or one of the 800 participating Payzone outlets. If you choose to pay your bill in instalments, please be aware you will not be eligible for a discount."
People who are struggling to pay their rate bill have been urged to contact LPS urgently: "I would encourage anyone having difficulty paying their rate bill to contact LPS as soon as possible by calling: 0300 200 7801. We will explore each option open to you by reviewing your circumstances and may be able to discuss alternative payment arrangements."

£17m To Support Pensioners Affected By Winter Fuel Payment Changes
Communities Minister Gordon Lyons has announced a £17 million fund to support pensioners who have lost eligibility for the Winter Fuel Payment due to recent UK government changes. The one-off £100 payment will be automatically issued to an estimated 250,000 pensioners in around 170,000 households before the end of March 2025.
