Man Found Unconscious In L'Derry

A man who was found with head injuries in L'Derry on Sunday remains unconscious in hospital.

Police have said the man, understood to be in his 50s, was found at Lower Bennett Street in the city at around 10.30pm on Sunday. He had sustained serious head injuries.

He was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital for treatment before being transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Man Found With 'Serious Injuries' Dies In Hospital
A man found with serious injuries at his home in Newtownards has died in hospital. Police have named the man as 71-year-old John Trolan. He was discovered at his house in Mark Street area at approximately 10.30am on Thursday, 8 June. He was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to hospital. It is understood he died over the weekend.

Co Antrim Man Found Dead In Ibiza Sustained Head Injuries
A County Antrim man found dead in a hotel room in Ibiza sustained head injuries, according to Ireland's expert State Pathologist. Alan Drennan, 21, was found dead just 24 hours after arriving in Ibiza. Mr Drennan was detained by Spanish police when he arrived on the holiday island, and friends claim that he was attacked by the police.

Body Of Missing L'Derry Man Found
The body of a man found off the coast in Donegal is of missing L'Derry man Anthony Griffiths, Gardai have confirmed. Mr Griffiths, 59, was last seen near Doagh Famine Village just after midnight on Tuesday, 30 August. His body has been airlifted to Letterkenny Hospital. Gardai thanked the public for their assistance.

Police rescue man from flat fire
A 40-year-old man has been taken to hospital following a fire at a flat in Magherafelt. The alarm was raised shortly after 10pm on Thursday when a fire was spotted inside the flat at Queen Street. When police arrived at the scene an officer spotted smoke coming from under the door.
