Cannabis Seizures, N. Belfast

Police in north Belfast have uncovered a quantity of cannabis during searches of two properties over the weekend.

On the evening of Friday 2 May, police searched a property in the Hopewell Crescent area and discovered cannabis with an estimated street value of between £6,000 and £8,000. A 31-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were arrested. They were interviewed and subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Then, at about 18:30 on Sunday 4 May, police searched a property in the Mount Coole Park area of the city and discovered cannabis plants with an estimated street value in excess of £130,000. A 60-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of drugs offences.

74-Yr-Old Photographer Assaulted On Falls Road

Police are appealing for information following a street robbery in the Falls Road area of west Belfast on the evening of Sunday 4 May.

At about 18:30 it was reported that a 74-year-old man was taking photographs of murals close to the junction of Albert Street when he was approached by three unknown males. The men assaulted him and stole his Canon camera. The man suffered cuts and bruises in the incident.

Appeal Over N. Belfast Arson

Police in north Belfast are appealing for information after a report of arson at the Halliday Road area in the early hours of Sunday 4 May.

Shortly before 04:20, it was reported that a silver Toyota Aygo was on fire in the area. Fire crews attended the scene. It is thought that the fire was started deliberately.

Petrol Bombs Thrown In Sandy Row Disorder

Police have said they dealt with "sporadic violence" during disorder in the Sandy Row area of south Belfast on Sunday evening.

A PSNI spokeswoman said a number of petrol bombs and stones had been thrown, but it is not believed that anyone was injured.

Police say they worked with community representatives in the area to restore calm.

Death Of Man In West Belfast Not Being Treated As Suspicious
Police have launched an investigation following the death of a man in west Belfast. The man's body was discovered in the Paris Street area on Sunday night. Police said they are not treating the death as suspicious. A post-mortem is to be carried out to establish the cause of death.

PSNI Appeal For Help Tracing Missing Belfast Man
The PSNI have issued an appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of 31-year-old Conor Bradley. Conor was last seen on Saturday, 29 January. He is described as 6'6", of slim build with ginger hair. He is believed to be in the Belfast area, according to police. Anyone with any information about Conor or his whereabouts is urged to contact police.

Police Appeal After 'Shot Fired' In North Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after reports of a shot being fired in north Belfast. No-one is believed to have been injured in the incident in the Farringdon Court area on Thursday. Police are keen to establish what happened and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Class A Drugs And Money Seized In West Belfast
A total of £20,000 of Class A drugs have been seized following a search in west Belfast. The drugs and a sum of cash were found during a planned search in the McDonnell Street area on Sunday, 21 January. A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drugs and money laundering offences.
