Man Escapes 'Arson' Attack, Bangor
A man has escaped from a suspected arson attack at a flat in Bangor, County Down.
The fire was started at the property on Lisnabreen Walk at about 22:00 on Wednesday evening.
A man was inside at the time but escaped unharmed.
Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may be able to assist them with their enquiries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives in north Down on the non-emergency number 101.
Appeal Over N Belfast Hijacking
Detectives in north Belfast are appealing for information following the report of a vehicle hijacking in the Alliance Avenue area on the morning of Wednesday 7 May.
At about 11:50, the male driver of a silver Vauxhall Vectra was approached by two men, described as both wearing baseball caps and one wearing a grey/light coloured top and one carrying a knife. The two men assaulted the man and drove off in the car.
The vehicle was then located by police at Ardoyne Avenue at the junction with Havana Gardens at about midday. A sum of cash that had been lying on the passenger seat of the car was missing.
The driver was described as in a state of shock and sustained facial injuries that are not thought to life threatening. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the hijacking or who has any other information that could assist the investigation. They can be contacted at CID in Tennent Street Police Station by calling the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively information can be given anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
Detectives Investigate Armed Robbery, S Belfast
Detectives in south Belfast are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a business in the Bradbury Place area on the afternoon of Wednesday 7 May.
At around 17:45, it was reported that two males entered a shop in the area, with one man believed to have been armed with a knife. The man armed with a knife threatened a male member of staff during the incident. It is believed that a quantity of cigarettes were taken and the males made off towards the Sandy Row area. The member of staff was not injured during the incident and enquiries are continuing.
One of the males is described as being 30-40 years of age, 5"8, slim build wearing a dark hooded top with white stripes down the arm. The man was wearing a dark 'beanie style' hat, blue jeans, white trainers and dark coloured gloves. The second male is described as 30-40 years old, 5"10, slim build and wearing a grey hooded top. He was wearing a white t-shirt, dark coloured gloves and blue jeans with tears on the legs.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident is asked to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Man Struck With 'Rifle' During Mugging
A man has been hit with a suspected rifle during an attempted mugging in east Belfast.
Two men were walking along Black Path in the Connswater Street area near the Holywood Arches when they were approached by two masked men shortly after 22:25 on Wednesday evening.
The masked men are believed to have been armed with a suspected rifle and a machete. One of the victims said they were hit with the rifle.
The unknown male armed with the suspected firearm is described as 5"8, with a muscular build. He was wearing a navy 'Adidas-style' top.
Nothing is believed to have been taken during the incident.

Off licence robbed in south Belfast
A man armed with a handgun has robbed an off-licence in the University Road area of south Belfast. Shortly after 7pm, a man entered the premises and produced a handgun and demanded money from the till. The man made off with an undisclosed sum of money.

Man Shot In Legs In Co Armagh
A man has been shot in both legs in Co Armagh. A group of men forced their way into a house in the Meadowbank area of Craigavon and dragged the victim outside and shot him in both legs. The incident happened on Thursday night. The 26-year-old man has is being treated in hospital. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Armed Man Attempts To Hijack Driver In Belfast
A man armed with a hammer attempted to hijack a delivery driver in Belfast on Friday night. The incident occurred on Albert Street shortly after 9.30pm. The armed man stepped onto the road in an apparent attempt to force the vehicle to stop. The driver avoided the male and as he drove around him, the male struck the side of the van with the hammer.

Police in south Belfast have appealed for information following an armed robbery at a petrol station yesterday evening. The incident happened at around 10.30pm, when a man armed with a knife entered the premises in the Finaghy area of the Upper Lisburn Road, and threatened a member of staff.
